HISTORY OF TREEJUMPERS

Treejumpers was founded in 1997 and immediately won Shell Livewire’s ‘Most Promising New Business’ Award. Strong demand for high quality outdoor activities fueled a growth period until being voted ‘Best Day Out in the South East’ on Channel 4’s Big Breakfast in 2000.

More recently we have developed a wider range of activities to keep ahead of the increasingly sophisticated and more demanding corporate training industry and we have recently branched further into the Public Sector providing training courses for MET and Kent Police as well as The Foreign Commonwealth Office. The schools team have worked with teachers, local authorities and youth organizations to provide appropriate programs to address the National Curriculum and to give young people positive experiences of the outdoors and are now able to offer some courses which can be used towards GCSE PE grades. Throughout, the leisure market has shown that people are increasingly keen to get out and do something creative and challenging at the weekend. Our challenge is to continue to develop new activities to justify that excitement.

Carrying on from the recent additions of a crashed 6-seater plane and new quad trails we have also added a man made caving system at our woodland park site. 2007 also sees the introduction of public activity weekends for adults and walk on activity days for juniors, this allows people to experience activities without having to bring along a minimum group number. 2007 also sees the introduction of brand new centres in the South of England,  Berkshire (schools and corporate), and 2 new centres in kent, Squerryes for Corporate Customers and The Hop Farm, treejumpers first ‘Sky Park’ Venture. These new centres allow us to offer our activities to a wider range of people and allow for the increased demand for outdoor activities and outdoor education, also allowing us to build on the number of activities that we can offer.

Treejumpers is expanding at a vast rate and we hope to have more centres opening across England over the next few years. 2008 will see the company grow even more with the introduction of a new centre in Oxfordshire and a Skypark at Bluewater Shopping centre
